"Hooker" (Hooker)

And kind of awesome! It’s a Lenovo branded, bluetooth mouse (usb dongle in case no bluetooth) that converts to a flat laser pointer. Pictures attached. It will take some getting used to in this form factor. But I already love it! The “scroll wheel” is actually a pad that you, uh, “stroke” to get it to scroll. Kind of neat.

How did it look before you microwaved it?

Kinda reminds me of Microsoft’s second Arc mouse. Never liked capacitive scroll buttons.

How do you use that?

It’s been 25 minutes with it and I’m adjusting quite easily to not having something to grab onto underneath it. Not bad at all. I see myself in less than an hour being completely comfortable with it.

It’s the left handed version due to my thumb injury so you use it with your left hand and use your elbow more and your wrist less than with a normal mouse.

So far, it works. When I first took it out of the box I kind of stared at it weirdly. But it’s really intuitive and hasn’t failed yet!

Nice. I hate buying mice— the only one I ever actually liked was the original Arc mouse, but I had two of them crap out on my ever less than a year. Unfortunately CAD work requires a real middle button.

Like, legitimately? I haven’t hooked this thing up to CAD yet. Planning on it tonight. I’m going to be heartbroken if it doesn’t work! Especially because this was free! Haha. I got this one in a package deal with the new lenovo laptop that may or may not ever show up!

Well, I primarily use Solidworks these days (as in, the last 9 years)... it’d be a real PITA not to have an actual physical scroll button. Every time I’ve used a cap switch, it zooms kind of uncontrollably.

Now that I think about it (and stroke my mouse a bit more) I can see how the precise movements would be almost uncontrollable. That’s something to think about. Also, I will have to buy a new mouse from amazon. Here I come, logitech! Thanks for the perspective!
